Profile

Originally trained in philosophy, Giulia is interested in understanding how immersive media actively shape power by challenging traditional notions of subjectivity, embodiment, and the gaze. Her thesis, titled “Gazing from Within: The Politics of Spectatorship in Immersive Projection Rooms”, approaches these questions from a feminist, posthumanist, and new-materialist perspective. This project was funded by Queen Mary HSS Principal’s Research Studentship, and her research has been supported, among others, by BAFTSS, the American Society of Aesthetics, and the British Society for Aesthetics.
