Tim Staffel is a novelist, playwright, radio dramatist, screenwriter, and filmmaker. His work includes the novels Terrordrom, Südstern, which was longlisted for the German Book Prize in 2023, and his most recent novel, Wasserspiel. He has also worked in film.

His residency forms part of the CAGCR Writer-in-Residence Programme, which has brought contemporary German-language writers to Queen Mary since 2005, in cooperation with the Deutscher Literaturfonds.

During his stay in London, Tim Staffel will take part in readings, discussions, and other activities, providing opportunities for students, colleagues, and the wider public to engage with his work and contemporary German-language literature.

We very much look forward to welcoming Tim to Queen Mary and to the conversations and encounters that his residency will bring.
