Queen Mary’s school of Geography celebrates prestigious accreditation from Royal Geographical Society

Geography undergraduate degree programmes at Queen Mary University of London have been accredited by the Royal Geographical Society(with IBG).

The Royal Geographical Society awarded accreditation to Queen Mary’s School of Geography Geography BA, Geography BSc and Geography with Business Management BSc programmes.

The accreditation serves as evidence of the School of Geography’s commitment to providing a comprehensive and rigorous academic foundation in geographical studies. By offering a diverse curriculum that delves into vital global issues, the accredited programmes empower students to tackle grand challenges facing our changing planet upon completion of their studies. From sustainability and inequality to the profound impacts of climate change and environmental degradation on society, students are equipped with the knowledge and skills that they need to make a real difference.

Through a dynamic blend of lectures, seminars, and tutorials, students acquire advanced analytical and technical skills that are instrumental in comprehending a wide range of real-world challenges. Moreover, students benefit from an immersive learning environment, with workshops, laboratory sessions, and enriching domestic and international field classes providing first-hand experiences to reinforce understanding.

Professor Kavita Datta, Head of the School of Geography, said: “We are thrilled to receive the endorsement of the Royal Geographical Society through their professional accreditation which recognises the excellence of our undergraduate degree programmes in the School of Geography.”
