October 2020 COVID-19 Update

As Autumn is now in the air we’d like to share with you what we’ve been up to as a COVID-secure venue and advise that we’re still here to help you talk through your event needs for 2021 and beyond.

As we approached the end of summer we were hopeful that we would be able to re-introduce larger events with the government easing restrictions on events and gatherings. Alas- it was not to be and so we are continuing to successfully deliver events up to a maximum of 30 guests for the foreseeable future.

Weddings and funeral receptions are still capped at a maximum of 15 guests however, whilst all events must adhere to social distancing guidelines set out by both the Government and the University’s Covid-code.

Being an accredited venue by ‘We’re good to go’; Our operations and catering teams have worked tirelessly to implement a tried and tested event delivery that gives guests confidence and peace of mind during the planning stages and on the day itself.

We have delivered some incredibly delicious bento-box style lunches for a corporate team lunch and we held our first #microwedding on the 17th October. Exciting details and pictures from the micro wedding will be shared on our social media page in due course. Follow our Instagram page: weddingsqmul.

We can’t wait to fill our spaces with large scale events one day, but in the meantime we’re vigorously exploring ways that we can diversify our spaces and allow wider audiences to access them. Recently we’ve met with two fantastic AV companies to explore how we can transform our spaces into Hybrid ready event backdrops. We’ve heard some incredible ideas and we’re so excited to share our new offer with you very soon. If you’re wondering what’s the difference between a Hybrid vs Virtual event, give us a call so that we can talk you through the details and options available to you; 020 7882 5432.

Our lovely sales team are actively conducting site visits where possible and we’re proud to be sporting our new QM Face coverings when we welcome guests to our campus’.

Our diary and our doors are still open and we are already making plans for summer 2021 and beyond. Exactly how this landscape will look remains yet to be seen, however we remain committed to offering our clients complete flexibility when it comes to contracting and confirming their event.

Please do get in touch if you’d like to talk about what type of space you would need in this new climate, or how your Hybrid event can run at Queen Mary Venues:
