Ayca Ozer 200x299Why did you decide to get involved with the CCLS North America Chapter?

I got my MSc degree in Law and Finance in 2013, and at that time, it was a pioneer program for financial markets professionals who pursued multidisciplinary knowledge. I enjoyed and benefited a lot from the collaborative spirit of CCLS and its intensive engagement with City professionals. As an alumna, I have proudly promoted legal studies at CCLS to financial markets, professionals and regulators in Turkey and gladly connected with the community. As soon as I relocated to the US, I realised how valuable it was connecting with local fellow alumni. I believe the CCLS North America Chapter will be a perfect platform to be connected and share experiences through the collaborative spirit of CCLS, which connects disciplines and people around the globe.

What do you think the importance of the North America Chapter is?

I believe an exclusive chapter for the CCLS North America Chapter can serve as a unique platform to share experience and get connected with highly skilled North American alumni.  We will be carrying our shared memories of Lincoln Inn Fields and London. It would be great to meet again and to enrich the CCLS experience with further networking. CCLS and more broadly QMUL’s spirit of curiosity, diversity, and lifelong education connected us in the past and will be an even greater connector for the future.

How do you hope the Chapter will benefit alumni who join?

I hope having an engaged and inclusive alumni network will be beneficial for all of us. It would be an open source of networking and a platform to share experiences, to introduce events, to offer/get mentorship and sponsorship and to provide further collaboration. I believe the distinguished and talented alumni of the CCLS North America Chapter have lots to offer. Additionally, I hope we all will enjoy coming together, participating, and contributing in an open communication place.
