Low turnout as France goes to the polls to elect new president

Published:

Voting is under way in the French presidential election which has been characterised by demagoguery and the lack of a political agenda. Dr Françoise Boucek, a Visiting Research Fellow at Queen Mary stated: "It’s interesting to see the repositioning that is required right after the first round, in a matter of hours. The other parties will have to mobilise their leadership and decide what to do and what to advise their voters.”
