How to Build a Global Abolition Movement

The carceral state has been reported to be on the rise around the world, and ending it will require a movement that recognizes the internationalism of policing. Endogenous abolitionist movements have been building around the world. Professor Laleh Kahlili, Lecturer at Queen Mary, said: "From the very first, there has been a circular, or mutually constitutive, role between police and prison systems in the U.S. itself and its counterinsurgency practices overseas."
