Four years on, what has changed since the EU Referendum?

Published:

Professor Tim Bale, from Queen Mary University of London, joined LBC to discuss Brexit, four years after the historic referendum took place. When asked whether anyone foresaw four years ago, that we still would have been in the EU at the beginning of the 2020, Professor Bale said: "If you go back to the arguments made by some on the Leave side, it was going to be one of the easiest deals in history, we were going to get this done quite quickly and we were going to maintain a close relationship with the European Union in economic terms, but regain our sovereignty in political terms. I don't think that any foresaw how difficult it would become."
