Exam Period Restrictions

Due to increased demand for study spaces and resources by our students, external visitor access and membership will be suspended during the exam period from Monday 29 April to Sunday 2 June 2024 inclusive at Mile End Library. Visitor access to Whitechapel Library will remain open as usual.

Eligibility

All members of the Queen Mary Alumni Association* are entitled to reference only access to all Queen Mary University libraries.

You will need to apply for a Alumni Extra Card from the Alumni Team for a one-off cost of £10.00 for lifetime membership. Access is limited to off-peak hours from 18:00 to 00:00 Mon - Fri, from 08:00 to 00:00 at weekends.

Please note:

  • Alumni do not have borrowing rights, access to PCs, print services or e-resources and can access the QM Visitor Wi-Fi
  • We reserve the right to restrict access during exam periods
*Membership of the Alumni Association is open to all graduates of Queen Mary University, Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry and their predecessor institutions. For more information please see the Alumni FAQs.

Apply for an Alumni Extra Card  

Alumni Extra Cards are only available to order online and will be posted to from the Alumni Team.

  1. Register for an Alumni Extra Card, please apply online. 
  2. Email a passport-style digital photo of yourself as a JPEG attachment to alumni@qmul.ac.uk. Your Alumni Extra Card cannot be processed without a photo. 
  3. Your Alumni Extra Card will be processed and posted out to you at the earliest opportunity following receipt of payment, application and digital photograph. Please ensure you include your up-to-date postal address on your online application form.
