About the Role

We are looking to recruit an experienced administrator, who will lead the taught programmes team in the multiple areas required for the smooth running of the academic cycle; timetabling, quality assurance and an accurate exams process.  They will manage the rota for the student enquiries desk, ensuring a professional, friendly service at all times, and offering a timely, efficient, and responsive system of the answering enquiries from stakeholders including students, staff and external bodies/examiners.  They will provide administrative support for those academics working with Accreditation bodies, maintaining detailed information relating to the necessary paperwork required for this purpose.  They will work closely with the School’s Education Services Manager to discuss and agree strategy relating to teaching activities for the programmes, to ensure that processes and procedures are in place so that administrative systems run smoothly for teaching activities and assessment.

 

About You

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have experience of managing teaching and learning activities or similar within Higher Education. Experience in developing and analysing policies and procedures is essential as well as the ability to inform decision making at a senior level. You will be a team player with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills who also has the ability to balance competing pressures, deadlines and complex demands.

 

About the School of Engineering and Materials Science

This post is within the School of Engineering and Materials Science, a large School with 110 academics and a similar number of postdoctoral research staff. There are around 1000 undergraduate and taught postgraduate students and 220 PhD students. These are supported by an administrative and technical staff team of 45. The staff and student body are international in make-up.

Staff in the administration office work on campus a minimum of three days a week.
