Overview

Careers and Enterprise is committed to developing the employability of Queen Mary University of London students and graduates by helping them to acquire the skills and experience necessary to progress successfully to graduate-level employment, enterprise and/or further study.

We are a team of 60 staff working across all academic departments, providing services to undergraduates, postgraduates and graduates for up to three years after graduation. The team is committed to supporting our diverse student population, distinctive for a Russell Group University, as evidenced by the Institute of Fiscal Studies/Sutton Trust report which considers Queen Mary the top university for social mobility.

We are looking to recruit a Digital Content and Campaigns Officer to work within the Content and Operations team. The successful candidate should be a highly motivated, creative individual who is enthusiastic about student career journeys and has the ability to write engaging content.

The focus of the role is to manage marketing activity across our social media accounts, website and through campus-wide PR campaigns, to raise awareness of Careers and Enterprise across the university and increase engagement amongst our target groups. During busy periods the post holder will be expected to act as first point of contact for enquiries to the Careers and Enterprise Centre from students, graduates, employers and academic staff. This will involve demonstrating tools and resources, and signposting to relevant information as required.

You will have excellent IT and social media and skills, with a positive and creative approach to solving problems and engaging with a range students and graduates. Collaborative working and relationship building are important elements of the role, so skills in these areas will also be required.

Currently all staff in the department are required to work a minimum of two days a week on site.

About Queen Mary

At Queen Mary University of London, we believe that a diversity of ideas helps us achieve the previously unthinkable.

Throughout our history, we’ve fostered social justice and improved lives through academic excellence. And we continue to live and breathe this spirit today, not because it’s simply ‘the right thing to do’ but for what it helps us achieve and the intellectual brilliance it delivers.

We continue to embrace diversity of thought and opinion in everything we do, in the belief that when views collide, disciplines interact, and perspectives intersect, truly original thought takes form.

Benefits

We offer competitive salaries, access to a generous pension scheme, 30 days’ leave per annum (pro-rata for part-time/fixed-term), a season ticket loan scheme and access to a comprehensive range of personal and professional development opportunities. In addition, we offer a range of work life balance and family friendly, inclusive employment policies, flexible working arrangements, and campus facilities including an on-site nursery at the Mile End campus.

Queen Mary’s commitment to our diverse and inclusive community is embedded in our appointments processes. Reasonable adjustments will be made at each stage of the recruitment process for any candidate with a disability. We are open to considering applications from candidates wishing to work flexibly.
