What is QMentoring?

QMentoring is a six month programme that runs twice each academic year, once from November to May, and once from February to August. Mentors meet with their mentee a minimum of once per month.

Benefits for students

This programme is designed to enable students to:

  • Access careers support from an experienced professional;
  • Gain insight to an industry/profession;
  • Start to build a professional network;
  • Learn how to write persuasive job applications, CVs and cover letters;
  • Acquire skills to perform well in an interview;
  • Where possible, participate in office visits, work experience, or other industry opportunities.

"I had a truly fantastic experience working with my mentor through the QMentoring programme. The programme did an excellent job of matching me with a mentor whose career closely matched my own interests. This allowed me to gain insight into the world of life sciences consultancy, solidifying my passion for this field even more. Thanks to my mentor’s support, I successfully landed a prestigious summer internship. The skills I've acquired from my mentor are invaluable and I'm excited to apply them as I continue to strive to achieve my career goals." - Sophie Sadiatoonasa, 2023 QMentee

Testimonial

"Mentoring is a two-way relationship, and I have benefitted equally from this programme. It helped me enhance my leadership skills and provided me with a fresh perspective. It gave me immense satisfaction that I was able to guide my mentee and play a role in their success." - Sarita Kohli, 2023 QMentor.
