Following his article for The Conversation, Alexander Blanchard, PhD candidate at Queen Mary joined a debate on TRT World about political protest pranks. He said: “I don’t think that these are violent acts. The point is it is an assault and it shouldn’t just be treated lightly and with general mirth it is still a serious undertaking… As you can see we are having a debate and there is a healthy debate online and a healthy debate in the media about whether this is acceptable, so in some quarters it is treated with general mirth but there is a debate, there’s no shouting down a debate.”
