Professor Ania Korszun has been awarded a National Teaching Fellowship by the Higher Education Academy (HEA). The HEA is a national body which champions teaching excellence, working with governments, ministries, universities and individual academics in the UK and further afield. Their National Teaching Fellows are coveted as "exemplars of world class teaching in higher education, and their expertise inspires their peers and contributes significantly to the sector's efforts in continuously improving the student experience in teaching and learning." Professor Korszun holds professorships in Psychiatry and Education, and for the last 13 years has been lead of undergraduate psychiatry at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. Just some of the highlights of her achievements have included developing new ways of teaching clinical skills, particularly communication in mental health, improving understanding of mind-body interactions, raising awareness and overcoming stigmatising attitudes in healthcare and promoting student wellbeing.
