Distinguished Visitor Seminar “Quantifying risk stratification provided by diagnostic tests and risk predictions - Application to population mutation screening”

Dr Hormuzd Katki (National Cancer Institute)

Published:

The Wolfson Institute was pleased to welcome Dr Katki, on 30th May, for this interesting presentation on a novel measure of the effectiveness of diagnostic tests. His proposed measure is simple to calculate and incorporates the absolute risk of the disease tested for, in addition to the usual measures of diagnostic accuracy. The presentation was followed by a lively discussion, which focussed in particular on the usefulness of the measure varying depending on the clinical context.
