Ozlem Eylem wins one of the ABTA Doctoral Research Awards 2018

This year, out of more that 210 applications from all over the UK, Ozlem Eylem had the honour and the pleasure to be nominated as a finalist for the Doctoral Research Awards in the Management and Social Sciences category. Ozlem gave a five minute presentation about my research together with the other finalists at University College London and selected as one of the awardees during the May ceremony.
Ozlem's research is on adapting an e-mental health intervention for managing suicidal thoughts according to the Turkish culture and testing whether this intervention is feasible and effective in reducing suicidal thoughts among Turkish migrants in the UK and in the Netherlands. Ozlem's PhD is supervised by Professor Kamaldeep Bhui.
Association of British Turkish Academics (ABTA) is a non-profit organization for scholars in the UK and Turkey dedicated to creating academic partnerships and bridges between the two countries. In order to promote and reward academic and scientific excellence among young researchers pursuing their doctoral degrees in the UK, they organize ABTA Doctoral Researcher Awards (DRA) annually. The awards are given in 3 categories: 1) Natural & Life Sciences; 2) Management & Social Sciences; 3) Engineering Sciences.
