Prestigious Travel Award for CCP Researcher
CCP’s Dr Rebecca Landy has received a highly competitive Union for International Cancer Control Research Travel Award to work at the National Cancer Institute in Washington DC for three months.
Dr Landy will work with Dr Mark Schiffman and Dr Hormuzd Katki to engage with and advance the ongoing discussion regarding the appropriate statistical methodology for estimating risk of disease from follow-up data in the field of preventive medicine, including screening programmes, where surrogate endpoints are necessary.
Dr Landy said
I am very grateful to be given the opportunity to spend time at such a prestigious institute and engage with such experts.
I am looking forward to contributing to the demonstration and clarification of issues associated with estimating risk of disease when surrogate endpoints are used and the risks cannot be directly estimated.
