Profile

Dr Catherine Marshall is a Clinical Lecturer. Her work is primarily focused upon the expansion of the Personal and Professional Development theme including the new Medical Professionalism and Student Wellbeing curriculum within the School of Medicine and Dentistry. Her undergraduate teaching interests include psychiatry, medical ethics and communication skills and she has established a module on ‘Managing Aggression and Violence’ in the healthcare environment for medical students. Research experience includes the qualitative investigation of Section 45A (Hybrid Order) of the Mental Health Act and she has worked with NHS England on determining ways of reducing restrictive practices in secure hospitals.

 

Dr Marshall completed her medical degree at St George’s University of London and subsequent MA in Medical Ethics and Law at King’s College, London. She is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists and an Honorary Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist at East London NHS Foundation Trust.
