Hannah Cottrell, BA MRes

Research Assistant

I am currently the research assistant for the HEAL (Health Engagement to Avoid interpersonal violent injury in young Londoners) study at Queen Mary, University of London, led by Dr Heather McMullen. HEAL is a qualitative public health study that uses ethnographic methods to build a picture of violent knife injury and serious youth violence in East London to support future interventions. This work is part of the Global Public Health Unit within the Centre for Public Health and Policy.

My background is in social anthropology, and I am currently a PhD Anthropology candidate at the London School of Economics and Political Science, after completing my MRes and BA there as well. Additionally, I have taught both postgraduate and undergraduate courses at LSE and UCL since 2020.

Research Interests:

My research interests are in schooling and educational policy, globalisation, social mobility and class, gender and racial inequalities.
