Dr David Jolliffe, PhDBarts Charity Lecturer Centre: Centre for Public Health & PolicyEmail: d.a.jolliffe@qmul.ac.ukProfileResearchPublicationsProfileI am an early career researcher at Queen Mary, University of London, where I completed my PhD on genetic risk factors for vitamin D deficiency and acute respiratory infections. I was recently awarded a Barts Charity Lectureship to conduct a n=6,200 phase 3 randomised controlled trial of high- vs. low-dose vitamin D supplementation to reduce risk and severity of acute respiratory infections, including COVID-19, in UK adults with sub-optimal vitamin D status. I am also a co-investigator of the COVIDENCE UK longitudinal cohort study which was launched in response to the outbreak of COVID-19 disease, and aims to advance our understanding of risk factors for coronavirus disease; discover how quickly people recover from the disease and track any long-term complications; evaluate the impact of coronavirus on the physical, mental and economic wellbeing of the UK population, and establish a platform for future research on coronavirus.ResearchResearch Interests:Acute respiratory tract infections and immunomodulatory effects of micronutrients.PublicationsPlease click through to see a complete list of David's publications.
