Our policy research unit has a five-year programme of research funded by the Department of Health and Social Care through the National Institute for Health Research. Our primary aim is to research strategies and tactics which can lead to diagnosis of cancer at an earlier stage and consequently reduce premature mortality from cancer. We are particularly focussed on identifying approaches which can attenuate social inequalities in cancer diagnosis. The lead researchers in the PRU include epidemiologists, general practitioners, public health physicians, statisticians, health services researchers and behavioural scientists.
We welcome input from colleagues and the public. For queries and suggestions, contact Oley Begum at oley.begum@qmul.ac.uk
