William Harvey Day affords the opportunity to recognise some of the most outstanding research and intellectual endeavour taking place within Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. This year, we are asking colleagues and students to participate in the adjudication process by submitting your votes.
For the event in 2021, we are very pleased to announce the introduction of a new “Women in Science Award”, which specifically recognises the excellent contributions by, and impact of, our women research leaders within the Faculty.
The SMD Women in Science Award acknowledges the significant achievements made by female scientists within Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. This award recognises the outstanding contributions these researchers have and continue to make to health research nationally and internationally, and are inspiring role models for emerging generations of scientists.

The following awards will be voted on by attendees at the William Harvey Day Research week through online voting, which will open on the first day of the event on 19th October 2021. All awards will be conferred on the final day of the research week, on Thursday 21st October 2021.
Submissions for the Best Scientific Image Award 2021 are now open. Please submit your images through the following webform by XXX. Colleagues and students will be able to vote on the Best Scientific Image Award from XXX, and the winner will be announced on the final day of the William Harvey Day Research Week on Thursday 21st October 2021.
The following awards will be voted on by attendees at the William Harvey Day Research week through online voting, which will open on the first day of the event on 18th October 2021.
This award will be conferred on Thursday 21st October 2021 for the most inspiring talk in the field of Discovery Science.
This award will be conferred on Thursday 21st October 2021 for the most inspiring talk in the field of Population Health.
This award will be conferred on Thursday 21st October 2021 for the most inspiring talk in the field of Translational Medicine.
The following awards will be given based on a decision of a comittee.
This award is for the most inspiring talk in the field of medical and health research. This award is open to both individual speakers and collaborative talks.
The PhD Flash Talk session will take place on Wednesday 20th October from 11:00 until 12:30. Prizes will be awarded on Thursday 21st October 2021
