Queen Mary University of London to lead EU-wide Resolution Biology network
Queen Mary University of London will lead a new European research initiative, following the successful award of a highly competitive grant from the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) framework.

Led by Professor Jesmond Dalli, Professor of Molecular Pharmacology at Queen Mary, the new COST Action is the first EU-wide network focused on Resolution Biology, a growing field of research that investigates how the body resolves inflammation and restores tissue function to health.
The newly established network brings together 166 experts from more than 50 institutions across 40 countries, creating an inclusive, interdisciplinary platform for innovative research, scientific exchange, and the training of emerging leaders in the field. Participation is expected to grow as the Action develops.
Professor Dalli said: "We are thrilled to have been awarded this highly competitive funding to establish a pan-European network, to advance Resolution Biology. By uniting experts from academia, industry, and public sectors, we aim to uncover how inflammation resolves and develop innovative therapies for inflammatory diseases. Whether you're an early-career researcher, experienced academic, or industry leader, your expertise can shape groundbreaking solutions. Join us and help transform inflammation research, revolutionize therapeutic approaches, and improve patient outcomes."
Although coordinated from Queen Mary University of London, the project is international in scope and aims to make a lasting global impact in inflammation research and regenerative medicine. The COST Action is set to officially launch in November 2025, with preliminary activities and recruitment already underway.
COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) is a funding organisation for research and innovation networks. COST ‘Actions’ help connect research initiatives across Europe and beyond and enable researchers and innovators to grow their ideas in any field by sharing them with their peers.
