A year abroad or in industry is now available across virtually all undergraduate programmes. We also offer shorter outward student mobility opportunities abroad via funding ringfenced under our Access Agreement (Access and Participation Plan), which is specifically directed at help students from under-represented groups. We also have a language learning scholarship scheme, which offers students the chance to study a language for free.

There is an extensive range of enterprise and entrepreneurship initiatives offered by our award-winning Careers and Enterprise department and our Public Engagement and Student Enterprise teams. These include:

  • QTasterbite-sized visits to employers to learn about their work, facilities, their graduate recruitment process and participate in facilitated networking sessions.
  • QIncubator – supporting students looking to develop an idea into a real business or social enterprise.
  • Student Consultancy Project –  group consultancy projects with local businesses and organisations.
  • Micro internships - part-time internships for QMUL students to complete alongside their studies
  • Student enterprise awards - funding allocated to student-led businesses

Our Careers and Enterprise team is also strengthening the work it does in partnership with academic schools, and aims double to 1000 the number of student placements and work experience opportunities by the end of the year.
