How to apply

We are delighted that you are considering coming to study at QMUL as part of the Erasmus+ Programme.

If you want to apply to study with us on the Erasmus+ exchange programme, you need to ask your home institution to nominate you. Nominations should be sent to QMUL’s Erasmus+ Institutional Co-ordinator at

You will then receive an email with the application instructions. Please note that you need to submit your full, up-to-date academic transcript(s) in English, your letter of academic reference and your evidence of required English language qualifications (if applicable, see below) together with your online application.

Generally, students studying with our schools or departments should have an English language level of B2-C1.

All academic programmes set their own language requirements.

Please consult QMUL’s Erasmus Fact Sheet [PDF 592KB] Updated document UPDATED 05/10/17   for full details about English language requirements. It is the responsibility of applicants to correctly inform themselves of the required test and level as a criterion to be eligible for an Unconditional offer of admission.

Once you have determined the required level, please consult this website for the accepted tests and equivalents, as well as any minimum component requirements, you can find additional information online here.

You will not need a visa to enter the UK if you have a valid passport from:

  • an EU member state

  • Liechtenstein
  • Norway
  • Switzerland.

If your passport is from a country outside the EU/EEA, you will be required to apply for either a Student Visitor Visa or a Tier 4 Student Visa. For further information and support please visit the ‘Immigration’ section under the ‘International’ heading of Advice and Counselling.

Whatever the country that issued your passport/national ID, please check that it is valid for at least 6 months after the forecasted end of your mobility period. If not, you must take measures to renew it as soon as possible and, as a requirement, before applying for any visa for the UK.

  • Application deadline for the autumn semester/full year – 1 June
  • Application deadline for the spring semester – 1 November

You will receive a decision after the application deadline (an original, hard copy offer letter of admission will only be posted when required for a visa).
