On your marks, get set... go! Stay QM bolts into summer!
Shades and sunscreen at the ready! Things are hotting up in East London as we eagerly anticipate the arrival of our summer guests! Over the next 3 months we will become home to over 50,000 guests visiting London town for some summer fun!
There is never a dull moment in the city, and this year is no exception. We are especially excited about the return of World Athletics to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, just 1 stop away from our campus! The 16th IAAF World Championships take place between 4th - 13th August and the month before, the 8th World ParaAthletics Championships take place from 14th to 23rd July. Both events will see 10 days of sporting greatness from some of the world’s top athletes and will see QMUL providing a home to visitors, volunteers, officials and teams at both events.
But let’s not forget about other great sporting events! This year we are proud once again to host participants of the Prudential Ride London event at the end of July. Dedicated riders will be staying in our accommodation to get some much-needed rest ahead of their big day! Stay QM consists of an intricate web of different teams who all work together behind the scenes to transform our campus from student homes into holiday homes! We are always striving to enhance the experience for our guests, and this year is no exception! Following feedback from last year, we are committed to developing the service we offer. This year we will continue to offer tea and coffee facilities in kitchens following a trial last year. We have also totally redesigned our guest information pamphlet! Instead of a cumbersome A4 sheet, guests will receive a small wallet sized booklet that folds out (similar to a tube map) with essential information that will help during their stay.
Finally, we just want to remind anybody who is coming to stay with us to make sure they bring their photo ID with them and have it readily available for check in.
