Title: Are Consumers Rational?

Description: Sujoy Mukerji is a Professor and Head of the School of Economics and Finance. His research has primarily been on decision making under ambiguity, its foundations and its relevance in economic context. In his talk, he will challenge the assumption of rationality in economics and explain the economic implications of assuming that individuals are not rational agents.

Title: What is efficiency?

Description: Dr Asen Ivanov is a Reader in Economics and his research interests lie in the areas of behavioural economics, behavioural finance and microeconomic theory. In his talk, Asen will explain the concept of efficiency and provide real-world examples of situations that lead to inefficiencies. In turn, he will explore ways in which inefficiencies can be ameliorated or removed.
