I applied to Queen Mary but didn’t get the grades and want to come back

If you accepted Queen Mary as your firm or insurance choice and your Centre Assessed Grades now meet the conditions of your original offer, we will guarantee you a place. Please send an e-mail to clearing@qmul.ac.uk with the subject line RETURN TO QUEEN MARY. In the body of the message please quote your Queen Mary applicant ID and tell us your Centre Assessed Grades (CAGs).

If you were firm with Queen Mary for Medicine or Dentistry and have now met the offer conditions with your Centre Assessed Grades, please e-mail smdadmissions@qmul.ac.uk, quoting your applicant ID number and stating you CAGs.

My Centre Assessed Grades (CAGs) are better and I want to apply to Queen Mary

If you previously applied to Queen Mary and declined your offer or you are a new applicant and you are interested in joining QM with your Centre Assessed Grades (CAGs), please check our online course finder for vacancies and the minimum grades that we will consider. You can apply online using our online Clearing application form.

What evidence does Queen Mary need of my Centre Assessed Grades?

We will need you to tell us the CAGs that your school or college gave you and will consider your application on the basis of this information If you meet our entry requirements, we will make an offer on the basis of the grades you gave us, but we will ask you to provide documentary evidence of your CAGs, for example, on school letter head or an e-mail from an official school e-mail account. We will send you an e-mail to explain how to do this. We will need documentary evidence of your CAGs before we confirm your place (status UF on UCAS Track)

I don’t have my Centre Assessed Grades. What should I do?

Please contact your school or college urgently to ask for your CAGs. You will need these to be able to apply to Queen Mary.

I already have a place at Queen Mary. Do the changes to A level grades affect me?

If you are already placed at Queen Mary (you are unconditional firm with us), your place is secure regardless of any changes to your A level grades.

Does Queen Mary have accommodation for late applicants?

We guarantee a place in Queen Mary accommodation to all first year undergraduates, including Clearing applicants. You will be able to apply for a place in our residences as soon as your place is confirmed (you are unconditional firm at Queen Mary).

Please note that applicants should apply as soon as possible, as room allocations for Clearing applicants will begin on Thursday 20 August. We understand there may be delays in you receiving confirmation of a place at Queen Mary. Please do not worry, we are taking this into account.

Please check our website for details about our campus accommodation
