This year we’ve put on an exciting array of events which we hope cater to all of our students interests and budgets.

Join us for a sunset cruise down the Thames or an evening sampling the East End’s finest cuisines - and get to know your fellow Summer School students!

How to book tickets

1. Check out the events on offer below.

2. Fill out the Eventbrite to register your place.

3. Pay for your ticket in cash when you arrive on campus.

Spaces are limited for certain events, so make sure you sign up in advance to avoid disappointment!

If you have signed up for an event that you no longer wish to attend, please cancel your registration so that someone else can get a place.

Sunday 30 June

Residences Welcome

The Residential Support Team will provide refreshments for those staying in halls.
When? Housing Hub, Fielden House at 4pm - 6pm, France House reception at 6pm - 10pm

This is a free event, and you do not need to sign up.

Monday 1 July

Thames Riverboat Cruise

Kick off the Summer School with a cruise down the River Thames, where you can soak up the sights and get to know your fellow students.
When? You will be collected from your class induction at 4pm and we will travel together to Tower Pier.

This is a free event, and you do not need to sign up.

Tuesday 2 July

Jack the Ripper tour

Become aquainted with your new neighbourhood with a tour dedicated to its’ most notorious resident.
When? We will meet outside the Queens' Building at 4pm.

Visit to the Sky Garden

See London from above from three storeys of exquisitely landscaped public gardens

Thursday 11 July

East End Curry Night at Tayyabs

East London is famous for its curry houses, so we’re going to take a trip to Tayyab’s – a stone’s throw away from Queen Mary - for some traditional Punjabi cuisine.
When? We will meet outside the Queens' Building at 5pm to walk to the restaurant together.

Monday 15 July

Trip to Genesis Cinema

We will distribute a poll at the end of Week 2, so that you can choose a film.
When? We will meet outside the cinema 30 mins before the chosen film starts.

Tickets cost £5 each and you will be able to purchase them at the cinema. Keep an eye out for our weekly round-up emails!

The Lion King on the West End

As London’s longest running West End musical, this is definitely not one to miss!
When? We will meet outsidethe Lyceum Theatre (21 Wellington St, Covent Garden, London WC2E 7RQ) at 6:30pm.

Farewell Party

Say goodbye to all of your new friends, and celebrate the end of the Summer School!

Take a glimpse inside the famous royal residence! The State Rooms are open just 10 weeks each year - so this is truly a treat!
