Wolfson Institute of Preventive Medicine

The Wolfson Institute of Population Health is an internationally recognised centre for research and teaching into the causes and methods of prevention of health conditions that lead to poor quality of life and premature death.

The Institute’s Antenatal Screening Service has been providing antenatal screening for Down's syndrome and open neural tube defects to women since 1989. Performing approximately 50,000 screening tests a year, it is one of the largest antenatal screening laboratories in the UK.
