Project title: Testing gravity with gravitational waves

Supervisor: Dr Tessa Baker

Content:  I am interested in searching for the fundamental law of gravity. The theory of general relativity by Einstein has met a number of challenges as wide observations of the universe are being carried out. Mysteries such as dark energy and the Hubble tension urges scientists to search for a more consistent model of gravitational theory in replacement of general relativity. The detection of gravitational waves provides a powerful tool to study gravity. I am interested in studying the generation and deformation of gravitational waves in strong field limit such as compact object mergers and lensing, or the propagation of gravitational waves in weak field limit across long distances, to obtain constraints on the features of alternative models of gravity.
