Title: Jet substructure at the LHC: a theoretical perspective
Abstract: The field of jet substructure has been one of the most active areas of LHC phenomenology over the past decade. In particular exploiting knowledge of the internal structure of QCD jets has emerged as a key tool in boosted heavy particle searches and studies at the LHC. The theoretical understanding and Monte Carlo modelling of jet substructure faces stiff challenges from the complexity of the underlying field theory i.e. QCD. In this talk we highlight those challenges, some of the considerable progress that has been made, and developments that hold promise for the future.
