Breakthroughs in Quantum Field Theory and Gravity: an Afternoon with Bern, Dixon and Kosower
On November 7th we will be hosting an afternoon of exciting talks with Zvi Bern (UCLA), Lance Dixon (SLAC) and David Kosower (CEA-Saclay).
Over the years, they have made seminal contributions to the calculation of scattering amplitudes in Quantum Chromodynamics (the theory of strong interactions) and gravity. Their work has led to both a deeper understanding of Quantum Field Theory and powerful new tools for computing processes relevant for particle physics experiments, such as the Large Hadron Collider, as well as for gravitational wave experiments such as LIGO.
The event will consist of three seminars, one by each of Bern, Dixon and Kosower. A detailed programme and seminar titles will be provided closer to the time.
