Liquid Argon Time Projection Chambers are an excellent tool to perform precision neutrino physics. Using drifted ionization charge they provide unprecedented detail in the reconstruction of neutrino interactions. Liquid argon is also a prolific scintillator, but until recently this scintillation light has been mostly employed for trigger purposes. New detectors being built in the next couple of years (SBND), or in the next decade (DUNE), are developing new light collection schemes that could enhance position resolution, timing and calorimetry of neutrino events. I will present the status of the development of the light collection system for the SBND experiment, as well as the recent ideas in developing light collection systems for LArTPC detectors including results from the LArIAT test beam detector.
