Quest for the Higgs decaying in b quarks in ATLAS

24 April 2014

Time: 2:15pm
Venue: See Talk Details

PPRC Seminars
Paolo Francavilla (ILP and LPNHE)

Despite its big branching fraction, the search for the Higgs->b-bbar decay is still one of the big challenges for the hadron collider experiments.
The seminar will show the status of the searches for the Higgs->b-bbar produced in association with a vector boson, with special emphasis to the analysis strategy adopted by the ATLAS experiment.
The second period of beam collisions (Run2) at the Large Hadron Collider is approaching, and the search for the Higgs->b-bbar will be important to complete the portrait of the new particle discovered in 2012 at the LHC.
A discussion on the main challenges and ideas for R2 will be presented.

The seminar will be held in room 226, Geography Building
