Abstract: 

Computational simulation is a cornerstone of modern science. This talk will discuss parallel and high performance computing (HPC), the hardware and software challenges associated with these fields, and the UK national HPC services; ARCHER and HECToR.  It will also discuss new and future computing technologies and the challenges for developers of simulation codes that the next generation of HPC machines will bring.
