Dr Jan Mol has joined CCMMP as a Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellow.

His research work is focused around the question ‘How does electricity flow through an object the size of a single molecule?‘ This covers a broad range of topics – from fundamental studies of quantum transport in carbon nano structures and electron-photon interaction in single-molecule junctions, to applications including molecular biosensors and phase change memories. He has completed his PhD from Delft University of Technology. He was previously a postdoc at the Centre for Quantum Computation and Communication Technologies, University of New South Wales and was a Royal Society Newton Fellow and Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellow at the University of Oxford.
