NON-ADIABATIC PRESSURE IN MULTI-FIELD INFLATION

Abstract: Theories of the inflation in the early universe which involve more than one scalar field are becoming popular as they allow for more interesting dynamics and possibly observable effects.  One consequence of this move to models with more degrees of freedom is that non-adiabatic behaviour is now expected during the inflationary era.  I will discuss the effects of this non-adiabaticity and what simulations of multi-field inflation can tell us about these models.
