In this talk I will discuss a family of spacetimes containing a conformal scalar field coupled to other matter models, in particular radiation fluids and Yang-Mills fields.
I will analyse the asymptotic structure in detail and give semi-global existence and non-linear stability results for the far future. By generalising an observation of Bekenstein I will show how to formulate and solve an initial value problem for these spacetimes at a big bang singularity. At the end, I will demonstrate how all the results can be combined to construct spacetimes that satisfy the conformal cyclic cosmology scenario proposed by Penrose.
