16 November 2018

Time: 2:30 - 4:30pm
Speaker: Alkistis Pourtsidou
Venue: G. O. Jones Building, Room 610

I will introduce two of the most important experiments of the next decade, namely the Euclid satellite mission and the Square Kilometre Array. I will talk about cosmology with Euclid and the SKA, concentrating on the innovative HI intensity mapping technique that can turn SKA Phase 1 and its MeerkAT precursor into precision cosmology machines. I will also talk about various synergies between radio intensity mapping and optical galaxy surveys (systematics mitigation, galaxy evolution, photo-z calibration, etc.).
