My research concerns the cognitive underpinnings of second language acquisition – in particular, individual differences in the acquisition of L2 phonetics and phonology. I look at how second language learners acquire novel sound systems and what makes this process more effective from the psycholinguistic perspective and in terms of language pedagogy.
