Online Remote Data Session | Stamatina Katsiveli

23 October 2019

Time: 11:00 - 12:30pm
Venue: Online - Registration link: https://www.bigmarker.com/mnc/RDS-17

For those that might be interested, there is a series of data sessions happening online once a month. The idea is to enable people from all around the world to share their data, make their research accessible to a bigger audience and meet other scholars working in the same field.

There is a post on Research on Language and Social Interaction blog that can give you an idea about what this is and how it started.

This week our very own Stamatina will be presenting some data from focus groups with Greek LGBT people conducted for her PhD, in which she looks at how individuals experience the intersection between gender/sexuality and (Greek) national belonging. At this session, she will raise questions about the use of self-reference (1st singular ‘I’ and 1st plural ‘we’) and participants’ categorial practices in interaction, focusing on how these are involved in account-giving.

I know that we all have very limited time (!) but if anyone would like to attend, your feedback will be much appreciated! It’s happening this Wednesday at 11:00-12:30. You can use the link below to register and join us for an online discussion.

Also, if someone is working with interactional data and would be interested in sharing them at some point, feel free to email Stamatina for further details.
