A synopsis of nine cover pages of Language module guides

Who can take a Language module?

Anyone at Queen Mary or from the local community who wishes to learn a language can take a Language module. You can start learning a new language or continue with a language you’ve studied before.

If you’re a Queen Mary student, you can take a language module as a credit-bearing module (30 or 15 credits), for free, if your programme allows you to take a language elective for credit as part of your degree.

If you are unable to take the module for credit, you can take a language module as extracurricular alongside your main programme. Upon successful completion, the module will be listed on your transcript, and you will receive a Certificate of completion. If you take a language not for credit, you need to pay the tuition fee, or apply to your home department or school for funding.

Unfortunately, scholarships for language modules are not available in 2020/21.

If you’re a member of staff or from the local community, you can take a language module and pay the module fee. Upon successful completion, you will receive a Certificate of completion.

What are the fees?
