Students who do not meet the English language requirements can apply to join the 9 week foundations presessional.

Once you have accepted the offer and met any conditions you will be required to pay a deposit of £2000 towards your tuition fee in order to secure your place at Queen Mary, University of London.  The payment of this deposit will assist you in applying for immigration permission under Tier 4 of the UKVI (UK Visas and Immigration) Points Based System.  If your fees will be paid by a government sponsor we do not require you to submit a deposit.  We do, however, require a formal letter from your sponsor confirming the arrangement.

Please note: There is no special fee for European Union (EU) students, although we do occasionally offer a discount to EU students with excellent grades. We advise you to apply early.

Additional costs (paid for by student)?

  • Textbooks for personal purchase - students are encouraged to buy these, but the Queen Mary library maintains multiple copies of all recommended texts
  • General printing/photocopying costs - printing facilities are widely available on-campus, and typically charged at 4p per A4 black-and-white page
  • Transport costs associated with travelling to location of educational trips, such as to the Coca Cola factory. These visits are paid for by The Language Centre and are only open to HSS students.
