This is a module for single and joint honours Film Studies students. It offers the opportunity to develop creative skills in storytelling and filmmaking within the theoretical framework of the bardic: innovative uses of narrative and form utilizing pre-industrial modes of storytelling: fabula, fabliau, shuchang, pingshu, märchen, sagen, parable and other traditions, and in doing so open up the possibilities for creative, social, personal, political and historical stories outside of the constraints of convention-led commercial production. Assessment will be based on two practice-based productions.
