ECOM105 - Valuation

The purpose of this course is to explore both the theoretical basis and practical application of frontier valuation concepts and techniques, including different types of Discount Cash Flow (DCF) models, Multiples and Real Options. A concrete Free Cash Flow (FCF) model for valuing a listed company will be developed in-class.

The valuation of projects on a stand-alone basis is explored, with an emphasis being given to Project Finance. The course also includes the analysis of the valuation exercise in a concrete M&A process and a Private Equity deal. Students are expected to acquire autonomy and critical sense in the use of the valuation techniques presented. Alongside the theoretical background, the course strongly emphasizes practical application, with case studies and examples.
