School of Economics and Finance

Links with industry

The School's close geographical proximity to London's key financial districts – the City of London and Canary Wharf – along with our excellent reputation and high rankings has allowed us to develop close links with some of the top names in the banking and financial industry.

We have built a reputation for our blend of academic and practical approaches to teaching. Our experienced staff have worked in the Bank of England and other key financial institutions, which influences their teaching style and provides our students with unique, relevant insight.

City practitioners

Our postgraduate programmes also have invaluable contributions from respected City practitioners and industry experts who work in key financial firms in the City such as the Bank of England, HSBC, UBS, Frontier Economics, Interactive Brokers, Aviva Investors, UBP, Palomar and many more, enabling students to gain both practical insights, along with the theories and concepts behind topical issues.

Professional body associations and partnerships

The School’s associations with the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI), the Chartered Financial Analyst UK (CFA) and the Chartered Banker Institute, as well as our partnership with Frontier Economics – Europe’s leading economic consultancy, demonstrate the exceptional standard of our programmes and recognition of our high ranking and reputation from the private sector.
