Profile
I get rather excited about the interrelationships between the arts, but particularly with those involving literature and music during the nineteenth century (in terms of songs, opera, and general theatre). I'm also interested in the use of digital technology in the study of the humanities and my work on musical settings of poetry has recently become part of the ‘Sounding Victorian’ project (see below).
I'm a mature student, and before returning to university spent far too long in the Middle East working in journalism and public relations, and latterly within the diplomatic world.
