This module is designed as an introduction to research and study skills at postgraduate level. It will introduce you to scholarly techniques and practices that are fundamental to research at graduate level. These include referencing, bibliography, and the use of print and electronic resources. You will receive advice on writing essays and dissertations. More generally, you will be encouraged to think broadly about the meaning and purpose of research. The module is compulsory but not assessed. Attendance is compulsory for students on the following pathways: Writing and the Modern Age, Contemporary Writing, Postcolonial and Global Literatures, Eighteenth-Century Literature and Romanticism, Victorian Literature, English Literature.
