Profile

My PhD research examines queer performance during the contemporary era of austerity in Britain (2009-present). In particular, the thesis interrogates to what extent camp as a performative mode and way of being can oppose scarcity, an integral material requirement and affective logic underpinning austerity. I am a Teaching Associate in the Drama Department and am currently a member of the Quorum organising committee. My practice explores the historical lineage of austerity in Britain, and currently takes the form of drag king / drag statue Oliver Cumwell.
